Weltrade Copy Trading: How It Works, Costs and Risks

Weltrade copy trading lets you automatically copy the trades of other traders (strategy providers) into your own account. It is popular with people who don’t have time to trade manually, but it is not passive income: you still carry all the risk. This guide explains how the service works, step by step, and what to check before you copy anyone.

How Weltrade copy trading works

  • Two roles: strategy providers publish strategies; subscribers (followers) copy them.
  • CopyWallet: a dedicated wallet created when you accept the copy trading terms. You must fund it before subscribing to any strategy.
  • Investment account: for each strategy you copy, a separate account is created with your chosen amount, currency and leverage.
  • Platform: copy trading runs on Weltrade’s copy trading platform (web and mobile) with MetaTrader 5 accounts. You don’t need a separate MT account unless you also want to trade manually.

How to copy trades, step by step

  1. Verify your Personal Profile (required to withdraw profits).
  2. Fund your CopyWallet.
  3. Browse strategies and click Copy now on the one you choose.
  4. Set up the investment account: name, account type, currency, leverage and amount. The minimum is shown for each strategy (often from about $100).
  5. Set risk limits: a profit level and a loss level at which copying stops and positions close. Choose whether to copy only new trades or also the provider’s currently open trades.
  6. Choose the allocation type: by balance or by ratio.
  7. Save the account login details — they are shown only once.
  8. Review the fees and confirm.

What does copy trading cost?

  • Performance fee: a share of profits paid to the strategy provider, set per strategy.
  • Subscription fee: some strategies may charge one.
  • Trading costs: normal spreads and commissions of the account type (see Weltrade spreads and fees).

Fees are shown on the confirmation screen. Compare the fee with the strategy’s real net results, not just its headline return.

How to choose a strategy

Check Why it matters
Track record length A few weeks of profit can be luck; look for many months
Maximum drawdown Shows how deep losses have gone; this is your likely worst case
Trading style Martingale or grid strategies can look smooth until they collapse
Instruments SyntX strategies with 1:10000 leverage are especially volatile
Number of copiers and capital Indicates experience, not a guarantee

Becoming a strategy provider

Experienced traders can publish their own strategies on the platform and earn performance fees from subscribers. Publishing rules and minimum requirements are listed in Weltrade’s help centre under copy trading.

Risks of copy trading

  • You can lose all the money allocated to a strategy.
  • Past performance does not predict future results.
  • Copied results can differ from the provider’s due to timing and slippage.
  • Third-party “Weltrade signals” in Telegram groups or on MQL5 are not controlled by Weltrade; be wary of guaranteed-profit claims.

To stop, you can pause copying or unsubscribe from the strategy in the copy trading platform. For the broker’s overall conditions, read our Weltrade review.

FAQ

Yes, you can stop or unsubscribe, and you can set profit and loss limits that stop copying automatically.

Risk warning: copy trading does not remove risk. CFDs and synthetic indices are complex instruments with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. This article is for information only and is not investment advice.
